IVAMA Technical Webinar Evolution of Laminar Seals for TOBV & Packing Solutions for Control Valves
Online

About This Event
Dear Members,
We are pleased to announce the Webinar on "Evolution of Laminar Seals for TOBV and Packing Solutions for Control Valves".
Date: 16-Sep-2026 (Wednesday)
Time: 14:30 h to 16:00 h
Presented by:
Mr. Rogerio de Andrade
Operations Director at Teadit
He is a Mechanical Engineer with over 25 years of industrial experience and a strong international background. Originally from Brazil, he has spent the past 10 years in operational leadership at Teadit, supporting diverse industrial markets and global applications. He also holds an MBA in Project Management.
About the Webinar:
This technical webinar will explore the latest developments in sealing technology for Triple Offset Butterfly Valves (TOBVs) and Control Valves, with a focus on improving reliability, lifecycle performance, and fugitive emissions control.
The first session, “The Evolution of Laminar Seals in Triple Offset Butterfly Valves,” will examine the operating principles and limitations of conventional laminated seals, key parameters affecting sealing integrity, torque and durability, and modern design concepts developed to meet increasingly demanding service conditions.
The second session, “Packing Solutions for Control Valves,” will address the growing challenge of fugitive emissions and the critical role of packing systems in achieving reliable stem sealing while maintaining low friction during frequent valve operation. The session will include field testing results of packing developed for control valves, along with relevant certifications and qualification requirements.
Key Learning Outcomes
• Understand key developments in TOBV laminar seal technology.
• Identify design factors affecting sealing reliability, torque and lifecycle.
• Understand the challenges of fugitive emissions from control valves.
• Learn how packing design influences emissions, friction and valve performance.
• Review field test results and certification requirements for control valve packing.
The webinar is designed for valve manufacturers, design and application engineers, EPCs, maintenance professionals, and end users seeking practical insights into modern valve sealing solutions.
